Both the biogeochemical properties of the soils with depth were determined, as well as the impacts of the introduction of oxygenated seawater on carbon mineralization rates.\n\ncdm_data_type = Other\nVARIABLES:\nsite_id (unitless)\nreplicate (unitless)\nlatitude (degrees_north)\nlongitude (degrees_east)\ndepth2 (Depth, centimeters (cm))\nnag_aerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nap_aerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nbg_aerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nxy_aerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\ncb_aerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nextractable_nitrate_aerob (Mole Concentration Of Nitrate In Sea Water, mg kg-1)\nextractable_ammonium_aerob (Mole Concentration Of Ammonium In Sea Water, mg kg-1)\nextractable_srp_aerob (mg kg-1)\nmicrobial_biomass_carbon_aerob (mg kg-1)\npotentially_mineralizable_nitrate_aerob (Mole Concentration Of Nitrate In Sea Water, mg NH4+ kg -1 d−1)\npotentially_mineralizable_ammonium_aerob (Mole Concentration Of Ammonium In Sea Water, mg NH4+ kg -1 d−1)\ncarbon_dioxide_rate_aerob (mg CO2-C kg−1 h−1)\nnag_anaerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nap_anaerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nbg_anaerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nxy_anaerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\ncb_anaerob (nmol MUF g−1 min−1)\nextractable_nitrate_anaerob (Mole Concentration Of Nitrate In Sea Water, mg kg-1)\nextractable_ammonium_anaerob (Mole Concentration Of Ammonium In Sea Water, mg kg-1)\nextractable_srp_anaerob (mg kg-1)\n... Gould LMG0106, LMG0205 in the Southern Ocean from 2001-2002 (SOGLOBEC project) (U.S. GLOBEC Southern Ocean) The goal of the larval krill studies was to investigate the physiology and ecology of krill larvae associated with the pack ice and the microbial community on which they feed.\\r\\n\\r\\nDuring LMG0106 we occupied two 4-5 day ice stations (Robert and Billy) and sampled several other ice floes opportunistically. We conducted 10 instantaneous growth rate experiments, and 4 whole body clearance time experiments to determine gut passage time (decline in pigment content over time). We also sampled larvae at two additional sites for initial body pigment content (whole body fluorescence), and at 4 sites for condition factor. The under-ice algal community was sampled at one site. Length and stage frequency determinations were also determined.\\r\\n\\r\\nWe occupied three time-series stations of approximately 1 week each, and in addition opportunistically sampled at times when other activities had priority. Our primary goal during the cruise was to occupy three ice camps or process stations with the intent of thoroughly studying the under-ice environment by SCUBA in conjunction with other projects working topside.
