The water samples were collected by CTDs. Silica production rates were characterized by delivering incremental increases in silicic acid (Si) along with a radioactive isotope of silicon (32Si). This is an extremely sensitive assay and can determine the maximum production rates of the community being studied and the degree that its growth is being limited by lack of Si. These data were collected by Mark Brzezinski from the University of California at Santa Barbara as part of Linking Physiological and Molecular Aspects of Diatom Silicification.\n\ncdm_data_type = Other\nVARIABLES:\ncruise_id (unitless)\nbrief_desc (unitless)\nevent (unitless)\nstation (unitless)\ndate_utc (unitless)\ntime_utc (unitless)\nlatitude (degrees_north)\nlongitude (degrees_east)\ndepth_w (Depth, meters)\ncast (unitless)\ntime (ISO Date Time UTC, seconds since 1970-01-01T00:00:00Z)\ndepth (m)\nsample_no (unitless)\nbottle_rosette (unitless)\nPAR_percent (percent)\nbottle_pooled (unitless)\ndepth_target (Depth, meters)\nPO4 (Mass Concentration Of Phosphate In Sea Water, micromoles per liter)\nNO3_NO2 (Mole Concentration Of Nitrate In Sea Water, micromoles per liter)\nchl_total (micrograms per liter)\n... The ability of natural assemblages of bacteria to utilize DOM produced under Si and N limitation was then assessed using remineralization experiments. Species examined in the remineralization experiments include: Skeletonema marinoi, Chaetoceros socialis, Thalassiosira weissflogii, and Odontella aurita.\n\ncdm_data_type = Other\nVARIABLES:\nspecies (text)\ntreatment (text)\nreplicate (integer)\ntime_point (integer)\ndays_elapsed (number)\nDOC (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nDOC_sd (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nTDN (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nTDN_sd (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nNO3_NO2 (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nNH4 (micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nPO4 (Mass Concentration Of Phosphate In Sea Water, micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\ndSi (D Si, micromoles per Liter (umol/L))\nbact_abund_FCM (cells per Liter (cells/L))\nbact_abund_DAPI (cells per Liter (cells/L))\nbact_abund_DAPI_sd (cells per Liter (cells/L))\nbact_prod (picomoles Leucine per Liter per hour (pmol Leu/L/hr))\nbact_prod_sd (picomoles Leucine per Liter per hour (pmol Leu/L/hr))\nspecifc_growth_rate (per day)\nbact_growth_eff (unitless)\nDNA_sampled (yes or no)\n | https://erddap.bco-dmo.org/erddap/metadata/iso19115/xml/bcodmo_dataset_518508_iso19115.xml | https://erddap.bco-dmo.org/erddap/info/bcodmo_dataset_518508/index.htmlTable | https://www.bco-dmo.org/dataset/518508 | https://erddap.bco-dmo.org/erddap/rss/bcodmo_dataset_518508.rss | https://erddap.bco-dmo.org/erddap/subscriptions/add.html?datasetID=bcodmo_dataset_518508&showErrors=false&email= | BCO-DMO | bcodmo_dataset_518508 |
