The bulk media was prepared with the same components and a portion was treated with Chelex-100 to remove metals, while the other portion remained un-chelexed. Half of each treatment was spiked with labeled \\u2075\\u2077Fe and either 0.2 \\u03bcm or 0.02 \\u03bcm filtered for comparison of the dissolved and soluble fractions.
