The data include dissolved concentrations from bottle and towed fish samples. Including the data from Leg 1 (Seattle, WA to Hilo, HI), the PMT sampled margin interactions, subarctic high nutrient low chlorophyll waters, the oldest deep water in the world's oceans, the distal ends of hydrothermal plumes (Juan de Fuca Ridge and East Pacific Rise) and oxygen minimum zones, equatorial upwelling, and oligotrophic waters in the South Pacific gyre at 20°S.
