The samples were collected by researchers at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and iodine measurements made at Michigan State University. The iodine measurements contribute to a temporal study of the cycling of redox-sensitive elements in the salinity-stratified pond, including reactions between multiple biogeochemical cycles and sources and sinks.
