Most rock samples are curated at the Escuela Centroamericana de Geología at the Universidad de Costa Rica (Central American School of Geology, University of Costa Rica) and at the U.S. Geological Survey Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center, United States of America. Sampling was carried out under national research permits. The data file includes geological descriptions of sediment and rock samples.
