    String summary "These data include dissolved concentrations of silicate, nitrate, nitrite, ammonium, and ortho-phosphate in water samples collected from within and around hydrothermal plumes emanating from the vent systems in the Main Endeavor region of the Juan de Fuca Ridge. They were collected during a cruise on R/V Atlantis AT50-15 from August 28th to September 15th 2023. Samples were collected in two different ways with two different instruments and these methods are identified in the data file. One method collected whole water samples as vertical profiles with a trace metal grade water rosette where the samples were filtered on deck through 0.2 um Sterivex PES filters. The other method collected water samples with AUV Sentry equipped with a SUPR in situ sample collection system and this system filtered water in situ at the time of collection through 0.2 um SUPOR PES filters; these samples were collected in horizontal surveys as the AUV flew a gridded survey through plume depths. The AUV samples were collected while the AUV was in motion and since they were also filtering for particulate material for separate analyses, the associated water samples are an integrated mixture of waters from segments of the survey line and not point samples. The coverage for either modes of collection are variable as we were targeting hydrothermal plume anomalies. The purpose of this data is to provide environmental context to plume particulate hydrothermal chemistry e.g. phosphate adsorption and as a check on the proper function of both sampling systems, i.e. anomalous nutrient data can be an indication of misfires or leaks when compared to expected nutrient concentrations, notes of this potential are including the data set in the nutrient flag column. This data will be useful to compare to future datasets concerning trace metals from the Hydrothermal Estuaries project. Users interested in nutrient concentrations in a hydrothermal plume environment may find this useful. These samples were analyzed at the UC San Diego Oceanographic Data Facility using standard methods for dissolved nutrients (silicate, orthophosphate, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonium) in seawater. John Breier was responsible for the nutrient samples collected with AUV Sentry and the SUPR sampler. Jessica Fitzsimmons was responsible for samples collected with the trace metal rosette. These samples were collected as part of the Hydrothermal Estuaries study led by Chris German.";

Using tabledap to Request Data and Graphs from Tabular Datasets

tabledap lets you request a data subset, a graph, or a map from a tabular dataset (for example, buoy data), via a specially formed URL. tabledap uses the OPeNDAP (external link) Data Access Protocol (DAP) (external link) and its selection constraints (external link).

The URL specifies what you want: the dataset, a description of the graph or the subset of the data, and the file type for the response.

Tabledap request URLs must be in the form
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/datasetID.fileType{?query}
For example,
https://coastwatch.pfeg.noaa.gov/erddap/tabledap/pmelTaoDySst.htmlTable?longitude,latitude,time,station,wmo_platform_code,T_25&time>=2015-05-23T12:00:00Z&time<=2015-05-31T12:00:00Z
Thus, the query is often a comma-separated list of desired variable names, followed by a collection of constraints (e.g., variable<value), each preceded by '&' (which is interpreted as "AND").

For details, see the tabledap Documentation.
